# Find government contracts from your code or your AI agent

## Start in two minutes

1. Create a key in Settings, API and AI apps.
2. Set VICTAVIO_API_KEY in your environment and call the API.

The same permissions and plan limits apply in the app and through your key.

## Authentication

Send your key in `Authorization: Bearer $VICTAVIO_API_KEY` or the `X-API-Key` header. A key belongs to one workspace and works as the person who made it, with that person's current role.

Choose Read or Read and write. AI operations also need write access because they use your workspace's AI allowance. Cookies do not authorize API calls.

Use keys from a server, a terminal or an AI agent. Never put a key in a web page or a mobile app.

## Limits

Each key has a limit of 60 units per minute. Quotas reset at 00:00 UTC. A 429 response includes Retry-After.

## Rules we keep

- A fit score sorts your list. It never predicts an award.
- You submit, sign and register. Victavio never does it for you, and an app can't do it through the API.
- Every notice links to its official page. Quote it before you rely on it.
- SAM.gov registration is free.
- The API has no deletion, billing, member administration or account security operations.

## Questions

### Does the API cost extra?

No. It comes with Pro and Team, within the limits above.

### Can my AI submit a bid for me?

No. Victavio never submits, signs, registers or contacts a buyer, and the API has no way to.

### Does Victavio's AI run when I call the API?

Only when you call an AI operation. It then uses your workspace's monthly AI allowance.

### Can I use the API on Free?

No. Upgrade to Pro or Team to create keys.

### What if my key leaks?

Revoke it in Settings. Contact support if you found a key that belongs to someone else.
